Concept

FlexZert is an experimental music performance by auvikogue & Brandstifter spinning collaged flexi discs on two turntables and effects. The collaged discs as their collaborative visual art practice are part of their unique visual stage appearance.

History

September 2025, auvikogue & Brandstifter met the first time and started their common flex work at Walpoden-akademie Mainz by cutting, collaging, punching or spraying vintage flexi discs. Immediately after this, they clecked out their „Frankensteins“ by playing them together in front of the audience at the opening of the exhibition CONTRIBUTION very contemporary art, delighted the visitors and themselves with a stunning loop fragment concert, wheras the bizarre round collages became afterwards part of the exhibition.

In December auvikogue & Brandstifter created some more flexi collages and performed them all at Walpodencekalender Festival in the storefront of Walpodenkademie Mainz. The concert and an interview with Brandstifter was partly live broadcasted at Landeschau Rheinland-Pfalz by SWR TV on December 11 2025.
